Step 2: Enter your details
Once inside the portal, you will be guided through a process of gathering essential information needed to complete your estate plan, such as marital status, family details, an asset inventory, etc.
The majority of the questions are about you and your general wishes. Nothing should stop you from completing these questions as soon as possible. Make sure to double-check your entries for accuracy!
How long does this step take?
Most clients complete the personal information entry section in about 30 minutes. If you come prepared, it should go by quickly!
What is an asset schedule?
An asset schedule is a comprehensive list of all your assets. This is an optional document that serves as a reference for your trustees, executors, and beneficiaries to make sure all assets are properly accounted for. To fill out this document, we recommend that you gather information about your assets, including bank accounts, real estate, and retirement accounts.
Step 3: Create and verify your documents
Using the information provided, the portal will generate your documents. These include:
Revocable Living Trust
Pour-Over Will
Financial and Healthcare Powers of Attorney
Living Will (Medical Directives)
Before finalizing your documents, review each document to confirm its accuracy and make any necessary changes.
Please note: Any changes made to your documents between the time they've been finalized and when they're delivered will not be reflected in your final binder. If you do need to make changes, you're welcome to do so... just note that you'll need to print out the updated documents and replace the outdated ones in your binder once you receive it.
PRIME can help with that!
If you need assistance ensuring all documents are completed correctly, have questions about your estate plan, or want help with your portal, please reach out to our experienced estate planning support team at [email protected].
Step 4: Receive your documents
Once you finalize your estate plan, we will print and mail a professional estate planning binder to you. You can expect to receive it within 2–3 weeks. This binder includes:
All of your estate planning documents, professionally printed
Tabbed sections for easy navigation
Instructions for signing and notarizing
When you receive your binder, review your printed documents. There are a few forms that will still require your attention, such as determining your healthcare directives (found in your living will), completing your personal letter of direction, and filling out your "information for survivors" form.
Step 5: Finalize and notarize your documents
To make your estate plan legally binding, you must sign and notarize the signature page of each document.
For a full breakdown of notarizing your documents, read this article.
Can I update my documents at a later date?
Yes! Your estate plan can be updated as you encounter changes in your life. You can make these changes through your client self-service portal. Updated documents will not, however, be professionally printed and mailed to you. You'll need to download the digital copy generated through your portal, print it, and replace the old documents with the new ones in your binder.
Do I need to upload my documents to my portal?
After everything is signed and notarized, we do recommend uploading the final versions to your estate portal. While this is optional, it's a good idea because it provides an additional layer of security in case your physical copies are lost or damaged.
Step 6: Fund your trust
A revocable living trust is only effective if your assets are properly transferred into it. This process, known as "funding the trust," ensures that your assets can bypass probate when the time comes.

Step 7: Keep your estate plan updated
Life changes... so should your estate plan! Events like marriage, having children, or acquiring new assets may require updates to your documents.
